The operation begins with the design being drawn in CAD software, which is then converted into G-code. The G-code is sent to the computer controller that is specific to the machine, which reads the instructions and operates the machine. The wood blank is then secured onto the motorized headstock, which rotates the wood at high speed while the cutting tool, positioned on the tailstock, removes the wood's excess material to shape the wood into the desired design. The cutting tool can be customized to create different shapes and designs on the wood.
